The principles of Atmospheric Plasma Spraying (APS): An arc is generated between the cathode and the anode (the nozzle) and heats up the inducted working gases into plasma, which exits the nozzle and forms a plasma flame. During plasma spraying, feedstock powders are introduced into the plasma flame to be melted, accelerated and ejected onto the surface of the pre-processed target substrate and form the coating. Plasma is one of the four fundamental states of matter after solid, liquid and gas, and is the foundation of the APS technique.• Porosity
• Higher bonding strength
• Larger thickness of coating than chemical plating
• Higher coating deposition efficiency
• Cathode and anode have longer life than common plasma nozzle
• Exceptional resistance to wear
• Extraordinary resistance to corrosion
• Better surface finish
